Dr. Mable Alfred Director of Academic Empowerment

DIRECTORS OF ACADEMIC EMPOWERMENT IASA and the Illinois State Board of Education have partnered together to create a new position by refocusing an existing state grant. At no additional cost, Directors of Academic Empowerment provide on-site and flexible support for schools.Eligible districts are identified by ISBE and come from communities that serve a high percentage of underrepresented students in urban type settings.

Dr. Mable Alfred has over 35 years of experience in educational leadership, including six years in the superintendency at Elementary School District #159 in Matteson. Dr. Alfred prides herself in helping establish a culture of transparency and accountability while also being able to engage with different stakeholder groups.
