IASA Annual Report FY2017

• Vision 20/20 Update—Evidence-Based Funding for Student Success video—use as an instructional tool on how the Evidence-Based Funding Model works. Dr. Clark emphasized that there are no “red numbers” per capita for any district in the state compared to what those districts are receiving this school year and that when they are released the numbers will alleviate a lot of fears. • Operation Green Button—the plan to identify individual IASA members to reach out to a specific legislator for key education votes when activated. • Looking ahead at legislation—school funding reform, FY 18 education budget, pension reform, school consolidation and cost shift. • Balanced life—family, career, friends and health; spend time on balance in your life to become a better leader. • Community Pillars—Work matters, reputation, and impressions Dr. Clark noted the challenges we have faced have been difficult, but we have a great network to battle those challenges. He reiterated that together, we must stay unified, vigilant and provide a strong voice for the more than 2 million schoolchildren in Illinois. Dr. Clark’s report ended with a viewing of the Don’t Quit poem video. A motion was made by Dr. Thomas E. Bertrand to accept the Independent Auditor’s Financial Summary as presented in the FY 2016 IASA Annual Report along with the acceptance of all reports. The motion was seconded by Dr. Mark D. Hansen and unanimously approved by a voice vote.
