2025 Professional Learning INTRODUCTION TO

2025-26 IASA Professional Learning Catalog

THREE PATHWAYS FOR SUPERINTENDENT SUCCESS Our professional learning framework offers three strategic pathways:

The Illinois Association of School Administrators proudly presents our 2025 26 Professional Learning Catalog—designed to curate clear pathways for

• ASPIRING SUPERINTENDENT PATHWAY

superintendent growth through future-focused learning experiences. IASA is offering three pathways to guide leaders through out the various stages of your career. INTENDED AS A GUIDE - NOT A MANDATE It’s important to note the pathway concept is not a man date but rather a guide for district leaders to thoughtfully and strategically build their leadership capacity. The Pathway framework allows leaders to select from administrator academies, workshops, and professional learning opportunities that best align with your district’s needs, offering both immediate and extended learning options. Leaders can choose from diverse focus areas including finance, health and safety, communication strategies, future-focused learning, and more. In addi tion, the pathways emphasize other key components to a successful superintendency such as networking, mentoring, collaborative learning experiences and executive coaching. PATHWAY COMPLETION Once a pathway is completed and the form is filled out, contact IASA to receive the corresponding badge to be used on your resume, LinkedIn profile or other places you deem appropriate. Professional learning experiences completed in the 2024-25 school year can count toward pathway completion.

For aspiring administrators preparing for a districtl eadership role. Earn this badge to articulate that you are Superintendent ready.

PERA, Evaluations and SB7/RIF: Putting It All Together

The evaluation, retention and dismissal of your staff is really a series of interconnected steps that create a cycle that must be followed each year. This workshop is designed for early career Superintendents and other administrators who would benefit from a practical, immediately useful refresher course on this essential topic. Information will be shared on each step of the cycle including the PERA Joint Committee, the SB7/RIF Committee and the timelines in which each of these committees must complete their work. Participants will also review the pertinent documents from their own districts relevant to this cycle and time will be given for Q and A.

IASA MENTORING PROGRAM IASA employs a group of highly qualified, retired superintendents who serve as Field Services Directors and are mentors to first, second and third-year superintendents. IASA is divided into 21 regions and each new superintendent is paired with a Field Services Director from the same area. You can call or email your Field Services Director with any questions that arise. They are available 24/7 to assist you! In addition, the Field Services Directors may organize in person or Zoom weekly, bi-weekly or monthly meetings to provide timely information to mentees. The meetings are also the perfect networking opportunity for you to collaborate with peers. If there are topics that you feel your region would benefit from discussing, always let your FSD know and he or she will organize an opportunity to connect. Superintendent’s FY 26 Task Planner Also included in this catalog is the IASA Superintendents Task Planner. This document, updated each year, provides dates and timelines on when to submit grants, reports and documents. While the task planner is extensive, it can never be exhaustive.
